First, my wife and I had a great evening; and Dan's place, the Thirsty Parrott, was a cool location to hold the reunion.

Second, it seemed as if Susan Grossman was the only person who took on the entire project, and single-handedly got everyone together.  (If she had help, my gratitude also goes out to that person, or persons, but it seemed like she did all of the hard work!)  So thank you again Susan!

It was great to see people again that I grew up with.  A few I knew, the rest I only recall because of their faces or names.  I think it was that way for most of us...  I learned things that I never knew before.  Like Bob Bongio's dad owned a restaurant that I ate at all the time when I was a kid, Phil's Diner between Shepherd and Greenbriar, just off of 59 toward downtown Houston.  By the way Bob, I hope that your cardiac recovery goes well and you are back in good health soon!

My wife, Lynn, and I spent much of our time talking to Donna (Pritchett) Harris because she and I had actually gone to elementary school together.  Like several of the people who I visited with, we weren't very 'plugged into' the school scene during our high school years, we were just doing what we had to do to get on with the rest of our lives!

Now that the 'big event' is over, for those of us who summoned the courage to attend and let our old schoolmates see us as we are today, (older, weaker, fatter, greyer, or balder!!!) I doubt anyone will even take the time to read this!  But to those few who may...

If you showed up, thanks.  It was good to see you and know that you are still with us... because so many of us have passed...

To those who said they would come and didn't, you'll never know how much you were missed by some of us.  I was personally really hoping to see some of my childhood friends from Cunningham Elementary.  I'm not going to name names, but please know that I was really hoping to get to visit with a few of you to hear how your lives have turned out!  (If by chance you read this, maybe you coud hit me back with an e-mail or something...)

To everyone who couldn't make it because of distance, prior committments, finances or some other good reason...well, I think you would have had a really good time.  No one was stuffy, no one was rude, no one acted 'above it all' ...
...simply no one acted like we all did when we were in high school!

This was the only Bellaire class reunion I had ever attended.  My wife and I had a good time and I came home with good memories.  If there's a 35th in five more years, I hope I'm around and can make it to that one too!  Now there's a line through GO TO A CLASS REUNION on my 'bucket list'!

So whether you made it to this one, or were unable to come, I hope we can visit in person at the next event!

Thanks Steve!  I'm so glad you could make it.  And it was good to meet you guys since I never actually knew you in high school.

I am already in the process of migrating the 40th reunion project to those who are willing to work on it...we can keep this website alive if we have some donations...it is paid for thru 8.29.2009.

I hope all of us are around for a 40th!  But in the meantime, take care of yourselves...and keep in touch huh?
